3- Opt out of Junk Mail

Why get a bunch of mail that you don’t read anyway? You can opt out of most unwanted mail by calling 1-888-5-OPT-OUT (1-888-567-8688) or visiting www.optoutprescreen.com.

4- Go Digital

Take note on your phone or tablet, ask for digital catalogs or copies of anything you can think of, get emailed receipts, etc. After all, this is the digital age.

5- Get a Cool Water Bottle

Buying water bottles adds up quick, not just in waste but money too. Get a cool water bottle that you don’t mind carrying around. Fill it up where you see a water bottle refill station and never worry about buying the plastic ones again!

6- Eat Less Meat

Raising livestock is one of the biggest producers of CO2 on our planet. By cutting out even just one meat meal a week you are helping reduce greenhouse gases. If you feel up to it, try going vegetarian and see how many delicious options there are out there!

7- Reduce Reuse and Recycle

Reduce waste however you can, use less paper towel, skip plastic plates and have guest bring their own cup when hosting a party, which also helps with clean up! Be creativity in thinking of ways to reuse anything, take your own bags to the grocery store, use a bottle for a vase or home decor. It’s fun! Give it a try. Of course, whatever you cannot fit another purpose for, be sure to send it off in the recycle bin.

  1. What a great idea. I was looking for a site like that. something that will help me, as a student, to organize my way of life and even my, not effective lifestyle. I must say ii got some good ideas here (especially the “Cool Water Bottle”).

is there any recommendation on those aspects regarding the use of traffic rather than privet vehicles?

    1. Yes! Biking or walking are ideal, however if that is not an option, check out public transit! Plus, you won’t have the parking struggle many of us experience in the city!
