  1. What an an outstanding and informative article! I am just now in the market for purchasing new mattresses and wow, you gave me exactly what I needed to gear up for that shopping day. Thank you :o). – Paula

    1. Paula, I’m so happy to hear that! Where are you located? I have linked two of my favorites that are located here in the USA. Check them out and let me know what you think or if you have any questions!

  2. Thanks for an insightful article. I have been thinking about getting a new mattress for a little while but there is so much choice out there it is difficult to know where to start!

I have to admit, I hadn’t thought about the fact that organic mattresses were even a thing! But having dad about them I definitely want to give one a go (I love the fact that most companies offer you an 100 day trial, that’s great). I do tend to get very hot when I sleep in the summer as well so it’s good to know these mattresses should keep me cooler.

    1. Yes I know what you mean Louise, it surely is nice to know you aren’t suck with a mattress you discover you don’t like! Thank you for reading and check back with us when you are ready to purchase your new mattress!

  3. What a great read! It’s nice to see such important, helpful information shared with your readers. So many people sleep on chemical filled memory foam mattresses, not realizing it’s filled with chemicals, polyurethane, petroleum, MDI, TDI, etc. which alone can cause respiratory and dermal sensitization and may be carcinogenic. Most also contain chemical filled fire barriers & all emit harmful VOCs which you breathe in all night. It’s so important to research all of the materials in your mattress – 100% natural latex is the only safe sleeping surface with a natural fire barrier such as natural wool. Also, check out all certifications – look for GOLS; GOTS; OEKO-TEX; USDA; GreenGuard Gold (the most important).

  4. Hi; it is great to know about organic mattress especially when I am allergic. But can I ask if it is suitable for me if I am bit over weighted? Not sure about a material and if it will be comfortable for me. I had a bad experience with several mattresses before so really want to choose the one what is good for my allergy but also I can have a proper sleep as I am overweighed. Thanks in advance for your answer

    1. Hi Marty, I definitely understand your concern! Who would had thought that old mattresses were treated with chemicals and pesticides. I’ll have to consider an organic mattress the next time I need one. Thanks for the information!

  6. Thank you for sharing with us this great post on organic mattress.I am about to buy new mattress for my son who is going to go to secondary school and this post gave me an idea about the kind of mattress I have to buy for him.

Are there small size for kids?

    Merry christmas

  7. Thanks for the article, I didn’t know that “organic” can be part of the mattress that you buy as well! I just bought a memory foam mattress from a regular mattress shop. I’m very happy with it, but I would’ve loved to buy something organic and more environmentally friendly.

One thing I was wondering about is that does the organic mattress have the foamy quality as the memory foam? Also will it go back to its original shape like the memory foam does?

    Thank you

    Imran
